Watch this video about AI (Artificial Intelligence) writing and then answer the following quiz questions.
I must state: my views on Ai differ a little from the department. Instead of automatic zeroes for using it, I will explore HOW you used it. For example, let's say you use it to properly organize your *own* ideas and then revisit each sentence to match your own voice. For me, that's simply using it as a tool. I do not view this type of usage as plagiarism. An easy way to cover yourself is to maintain a Google Doc and share it with me (sullivan.lauren1@gmail.com). Inside that Google Doc, you can put your originals followed by what you used to prompt the Ai. This will indicate how much is a tool and how much is a crutch.
On the other hand, let's say you post an entirely Ai generated discussion with no humanity in it at all. To me, this is plagiarized, and I have no use for it (nor do you). I would rather you use it to amplify your own abilities. On its own, it doesn't write as well as it's been given credit for. It is absolutely detectable by itself and deeply uninteresting.
My rule is this: be a cyborg--not a "do-nothing" diva. A cyborg is a combination of man and machine, which is great and inevitable. A "do-nothing" diva is a person who doesn't want to do their work even though they signed up for the class--while expecting an "A" (like a diva).
That being said, this quiz details department usage which will be similar in other courses. I want you to be familiar with those expectations and expect them to be enforced in your other classes.
In this one, though? Cyborg.
