How does 2-Factor Authentication work?

When you sign into your OneLogin account, you will be prompted to authenticate with your user name and password. This becomes your first authentication factor.

For the second authentication factor, you will be prompted to use your security questions or a One-Time Password (OTP) token using an approved (listed below). When combined with your user name and password, the result is a stronger and more resilient layer of security for NCTC accounts.

What are the steps to get this added?

Your first step is already completed, on your first login to the NCTC OneLogin portal, you added security questions. By default, those same security questions will be asked when you log in as a 2nd-Factor of authentication.

To add additional 2-Factor authentication (MFA) methods your NCTC accounts, follow these simple steps:

After successfully accessing OneLogin navigate to the Portal and "Click" on your name in the top right of your screen.
Select "Profile" in the dropdown list.
Under 2-Factor Authentication, click the "+" button to add a new method. A window will pop-up to select your method.
Choose an available Vender and Paring Method.
Download an option below of OneLogin Protect or Google Authenticator on your iPhone or Android Device.

OneLogin Protect

Google Authenticator

An extra layer of security is often required for mobile apps, and NCTC OneLogin's free Mobile OTP (One-Time Password) app offers a one-touch, multi-factor authentication that is seamless and easy to use. Google Authenticator's OTP solution is available on Android and iOS.
