Your ability to give oral presentations can be as critical to your success as your ability to write proposals. In today's work environment, knowing how to speak effectively and use presentation slides has become an increasingly valuable asset, whether you work in an academic or a non-academic environment.

And, today, more and more professionals are telecommuting or video conferencing with colleagues who might be 10s or 1000s of miles away. It's important to be able to present your technical communication in both face-to-face and online, virtual environments.

That being said, this is also a required course in your Communications Core Curriculum. Therefore, the state of Texas Coordinating Board requires that all students perform an oral presentation as part of the course.
